Media And Music - DJing

2nd Week!
We met with Nigel and his assistant Ian from POINTBLANK to be our teachers for DJing. the lesson involved in what we already know about Djing due to our ressearch the week before. they taught us how to beat match and fade songs in. they also taught us scratching. they demonstrated all the techniques that we had to know. they told us about themselves and their works.
after a break we were given a task to learn how to mix and fade music and set up the decks and the mixer. we had to remember where every single wire goes to set it up correctly.

Every single one of us were not that confident in doing it because we thought that we wouldn't get it right but in the end we did it. we mixed two songs. the original one played and we mixed in a new song fading out the original one. All of us did this together and helped eachother aswell.

Media And Music - DJing

In The First Week Back To School!
We had creative and meida diploma again for the last time. In the first term we have a DJing course which counts for half a GCSE. Again we had to be split up into groups in terms of media and music
Before we could even start on the practical part we had to do a research on DJing, on what it is, the equipments, who created what and what the techinues are and what they do. we had the whole day to finish it and either do a presenntation in powerpoint or just a typing.

today in creative and media diploma we went to the studio to take some pictures. we had to think of diffrent light techniques and positions that we can put up. we learnt how to create a shadow with lights and make parts of faces disappear in the dark. then we went into the dark room to see how we can transform a picture from a picece of paper into a balck and white picture on a film.


later in the day we had art which we had to conclude in our montage work. we had to finish of all our work on our chosen topics such as homosexuality. we had to either do a collage or a painting using paints, oil pastels or colouring pencils t ofinish your own copy of your chosen picture which best suits your topic.

Creative Media And Art

today in creative media we went over to room 915. before the lesson started we wrote a checklist on what we should already have in our folders. after that we looked at a slide show about photography and what types of angles and shots that we could use for our work. we looked at many types of photgraphy that we could use, for example we can use Black And White photography. we looked at many things that we could use to give a photograph a meaning. we saw that we could use reflection for our photographs .

after that we continued with our ideas for a photography. we had to come up with 6 different ideas for our work. after we finished our ideas and the description of the images , we had to put them on a story board that would make it easier for us to understand.



today in creative art we were in room 925. when we got inside the class immediately we start on our work that we started last week which was the reasearch on John Heartfield and other artists. after we finished that we decided to either draw one of your own or do a collage on it. then we started to think of what sort of Human Rights Image that we could use for our photo montarge. we had options that we could choose from such as Child Labour, Child Labour, Homosexuality and many more. we had to find images on them to represent the topic.

today in Media and Art
Art : we looked at photo Montage. and researched a few artists and looked at their work and facts about them. they were mostly the times of Hitler. this was by John Heartfield who lived in Berlin.
we had to research some images of thier work to help us with our own montages. we had to cut them out and stick them in our art books.

Media: we discussed our ideas of the reseacrh homework that we were given last week and compare it and analyse it.
we watched a clip on Youtube which showed images of cruelty to people in the world.
After we were given a task to pick 6 topics that we would like to focus our Photography on, such as eqaulity and child labour.
we had to come up with positions that we would focus on to get the message across to the viewers.

Human Rights Festival

today at the human rights festival we looked at 30 Short clips about human rights. they were all about either poverty, child labour, religion, racism, war and discrimination. it showed the sad and happy lives of people from all over the world. it showed the right to have a religion and believe what ever you want and more improtantly your identity. it looked at the lives of children in child labour.

after the Film we met two of the directors of the films. we asked questions to find out how they felt when they were filming. We also asked them how they felt about the sufferrings that they saw and how they delt with it. We asked them if their Films changed the lives of some people or change the rule of Human rights.

Whilst thefilm was going on we took notes, so that we would fully un derstand what it was about. After that we analysed the 30 films to understand what they were really about.

Creative And Media

Firstly we all went to room 915 to get indroduced to the topic of the term which was Human Rights. We looked at photographs that were involed in Human Rights, we found out more about Human Rights and the task set, such as comparing out lives to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights list. We were then divided into two groups, Photography and Film.
After that we were told to start on our research on Human Rights and figure out what topic we would like to concentrate on for our Photography project.

creative and media

today was the first lesson of creative and media diploma lesson after the christmas holidays.
and now that its a new term we had to be put in different subjects again. the theme for the the term was B0OLLYWOOD. it is a continuation from last term's work.
this time we have to make a 20 minute film. we had a film director and a script writer hired by the school to help us out with the project.
and as usual every term we get chosen to be in a group or subject. you either go in media and art or drama and dance. if you are in the art and media group you will be in charge of filming, productions, the credits, backstage settings...... etc.
if you are in drama and dance you will be the cast in the movie.
i was chosen again to be an actress with my fellow mates.

DANCE
on that day we didnt really have dance we just planned what we would be doing for the term and the homework.

DRAMA

in drama we started to come up with a storyboard together to make a bollywood like movie .

we were split into 6 groups and we were given a scene that we had to make it more detailed with understanding. then we showed it to the film director and script writer to make it into a better story.
